Baguio is not just your common destination, it’s a place for your favorite dishes that will surely capture your taste. You are assured that you will never get hungry when you are in the summer capital of the Philippines.
It was a whole day of food trip when we were in Baguio few weeks back. So, we visited a restaurant that is famous for its rib dish, Canto Bogchi Joint.
The famous restaurant that is located at 25 Kisad Road in Baguio city, offers fresh and tasty food that you will surely love. But this is not just your typical kanto food outlet because the place is surrounded by green lushes and plants which make the ambience more refreshing. It also has a glass wall where you can see the view outside and enjoy an al fresco dining vibe.
Since Canto is a well-known food destination, always expect a great number of diners. Usually, there will always be a long queue outside the restaurant (that’s how famous their ribs are).
Because we are still full upon dining in Canto, we only ordered a whole slab of Lomo Ribs (Php 500) and Cascade Salad (Php 160).
The popular Lomo Ribs is a grilled barbecue pork ribs with homemade barbecue sauce served with a choice of salad, rice, or mashed potato.
The Cascade Salad on the other has Baguio greens tossed with homemade vinaigrette, topped with fruits in season, cucumbers, alfalfa sprouts, peanut brittle bits, and cheese.
So far, Canto’s Lomo Ribs is the best pork rib dish that I’ve tasted in my entire life. The homemade sauce made the dish very tasty while the meat is so tender and falls off the bone perfectly. The Cascade Salad gives you a refreshing and healthy feeling after eating it. The ingredients in the salad is obviously freshly prepared by the chefs of Canto. Thus, this deserves a 5/5.
The staff of Canto are all accommodating. Despite the number of customers and long queues, they still managed to work their jobs professionally. They are also fast in bussing out a table after some guests ordered so many food from the menu. As they worked well with their responsibilities, I’ll give this a 4/5.
I LOVE THE PLACE! I experienced a refreshing food journey in Canto because of the white and clean interiors, green surroundings, and cold weather. Every element inside and outside the restaurant is much aligned with Baguio’s ambience. For me, this is a 4/5.
Canto’s price range is worth it! It’s not too expensive for diners who want to enjoy a whole slab of ribs (your Php 500 is already good for 2-3 persons). Other than that, food serving is more than enough for one person that you could even share to your friends. So this is a 4.5/5.
I recommend Canto Bogchi Joint to all tourists who plan to go to Baguio. Your Baguio city experience will not be completed without visiting this restaurant that offers only the best pork rib in the city.
