Eco Hotel is excited to announce the opening of its third restaurant venture, Chinampa Taqueria. The green hotel chain has recently been trying its luck in the food industry, with this Mexican restaurant as its latest brainchild. The food outlet is set to open on October 31st, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in Cabins by Eco Hotel, Tagaytay.
Chinampa is the first project by Chef Elgin Alonso upon returning to the Philippines. Elgin was previously the Sous Chef at the Ritz Carlton Dubai, and came back home to Manila earlier this year. He wanted to introduce authentic Mexican cuisine to the Filipino palettes, and after surveying the Tagaytay food scene discovered that this was exactly what was missing.
The roof deck at Cabins by Eco Hotel provides a quaint and unique location for this taqueria, with its unobstructed view of Taal lake and an open-air setup to enjoy the Tagaytay weather. It’s a great way to enjoy classic Mexican dishes, such as soft tacos and burritos. Appetizers like Nachos and Chili Dynamite match perfectly with a cold beer.
All food is freshly prepared by Chef Elgin, as he also caters to the in-house guests. Chinampa offers Huevos Rancheros, a Mexican breakfast staple, for that extra authentic kick. The taqueria is also open for lunch and dinner scheduled every Tuesday to Sunday.
Eco Hotel invites everyone to join the grand opening of Chinampa this coming Halloween! The event consists of live acoustic performances by popular local bands Lenses, Hilera and Autotelic.
Rate is only PHP 150 for an entrance fee, guests will get to enjoy a free beer and unlimited nachos (until supplies last).
