Every time I go home in Koronadal City, South Cotabato, I always tend to stay in our house the whole day because that’s my comfort zone (and I’m a lazy person). I don’t have that much time roaming around the city because I prefer sleeping in my old room and hibernate. However, as years goes by, I observed that our small city is getting a number of investments and I can personally see it from the new buildings and business establishments.
And because it was my birthday last September 5, I decided to stay in one of the newest hotels in Koronadal City– Eighty Eight Hotel.
Eighty Eight Hotel is located in the heart of the city at Gensan Drive, Brgy. Zone III, Koronadal, South Cotabato (just in front of KCC Mall of Marbel). The location is strategic because it’s near the important establishments of the city just like banks, restaurants, malls, and more.
The hotel is a tourist inn in category, which means it’s a budget hotel. It also features a common lounge, sun terrace, and a free WiFi. The accommodation includes a 24-hour front desk service and luggage storage for guests.
The property has 2 room categories; Double Room and Twin Bed Room. Both rooms are PhP 988 per night for two persons (room only).
And true to its name, Eighty Eight Hotel has 88 rooms in total.
So I booked a twin bed room because I will be staying with my brother, but unfortunately, he didn’t stay (I should’ve booked the double room instead).
The room is fully air conditioned and offers basic amenities such as hypoallergenic pillows and duvets, clothe rack, flat screen TV, and more. They also have a complete basic bathroom essentials.
One reason that made me stay at Eighty Eight Hotel is the staff because some were former students of a college in our city where I taught years ago. I immediately contacted one of them via messenger so booking will be fast. Needless to say, I got the room reserved for me in a span of 5-10 minutes conversation.
Communication is one of the best assets of this property because they reply right away. You don’t need to wait for a couple of hours for your room/s to be reserved regardless if you know the staff or not (try sending an inquiry in their facebook page).
Also, the staff have enough knowledge about the hotel and they gave me an update regarding the changes and upgrades of the property.
I’ll rate interaction quality of 3.5/5.
Since this is a budget hotel, I’m not really expecting something special. What I really like about the property is the location, cleanliness, and peacefulness of the place.
It’s relaxing when you enter the lobby of the hotel. You can’t hear any irritating noise given the location. Just perfect for guests who prefer to have a peace of mind during their stay. On the other hand, I can’t see any dirt from the lobby going to my room, it was all neat!
I personally loved my bed and pillows because it was really comfy. And since I felt comfortable during my stay, I slept around 8:30 p.m. (that early)
The only problem I see is the lack of dining facility of the hotel because one aspect that a guest is looking forward is the restaurant/cafe. Though the staff told me that they will be having a roofdeck dining happening soon.
So I guess I’ll be giving this a 3.5/5.
My overnight stay at Eighty Eight Hotel was not bad at all, in fact, I find the property really calming. It’s the right place if you want to de-stress from a huge city life. The rate is reasonable enough for you to stay in the hotel and enjoy a clean and relaxing place away from a bustling city.
It allowed me to have my personal and private time to reflect about life that includes my career, studies, and my startup blog.
Overall experience was indeed great. I will give this a 3.5/5 then.
